Fear The E, the mantra for the Hungarian franchise in the European League of Football. Coming off a 3-9 record in their first season in the European League of Football, the Enthroners look to bounce back in year two. Let’s preview the 2024 Enthroners.
Look Back
The Enthroners were an established team before the European League of Football. The biggest question mark was how the homegrown talent would fare. Although a supportive fan base they did not have the season they had hoped for. They struggled on the offensive and defensive line, had roughly 4 different starting quarterbacks, and ultimately they were worn down but the consistency of talent and skill the European League of Football offered week in and week out.
3 Key Imports
1 QB Jack Mangel is probably the most unknown Quarterback in the league. The biggest question is if Jack is someone who can win a game for you when needed. To be honest that will determine if they got better at the position. He will get the opportunity to answer the question.
2 DB Hjalmar Nielsen will play a big role in the defense especially since it’s only him and Roedion Henrique as important defensive backs.
3 WR Samuel Bhoedjang will have to grow and develop fast. He has the opportunity to learn from someone like Nathaniel Robitaille, but this offense is going to need a reliable wide receiver opposite of Nathaniel.
Team Outlook
The Enthroners are built differently than most. Unlike most teams, they went with 2 American Defensive Lineman for their import slots while going Quarterback-Wide Receiver on offense. A lot of teams in the East want to be balanced. Most teams have two strong quality Running Backs and a few weapons on the outside. In my opinion for the Enthroners to have success his year, they must consistently when on first down, control the game from an offensive standpoint, and force teams to play from behind the sticks. I can’t see the Enthroners trying to go score for score with teams this year. It will have to be a game that fits their style of play.
Schedule
The Enthroners have a balanced schedule for the most part. Their bye weeks are in good enough spots and they don’t have any long stretches with consistently strong competition. On paper, I don’t see them as a playoff team, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they can get +2 or +3 more wins than last year.
