With the matchup between Terrassa and Badalona the regular season of the LNFA comes to an end; the playoffs are set, a team is relegated, and as always, a power ranking is formed.
The regular season of the 31st Liga Nacional de Fútbol Americano (National Football League) or LNFA is done. After 10 weeks of play and 40 games, this season has been marked by surprises, parity, and the rise and discovery of a wealth of national talent.
The 4 teams destined for glory in this year of American football in Spain are the Las Rozas Black Demons and Badalona Dracs as the #1 seed in each conference, and the Osos de Rivas and the big surprise of the season Terrassa Reds as the #2.
Unfortunately, as always, a team must be relegated. Despite having a great campaign in the 2024-2025 and improving in a lot of aspects in relation with last year, the Barcelona Pagesos is the squad that will have to play in the LNFA2 next year after ending the season with a 1-1-6 record.
With everything up for grabs and a lot of football still on the line, here are the final rankings of the season:
Conference rankings:
Eastern Conference:
#1: Badalona Dracs (7-1)
#2: Terrassa Reds (5-1-2)
#3: Mallorca Voltors (3-5)
#4: L'Hospitalet Pioners (3-5)
#5: Barcelona Pagesos (1-1-6)
Western Conference:
#1: LG OLED Las Rozas Black Demons (8-0)
#2: Osos de Rivas (4-4)
#3: Camioneros de Coslada (4-4)
#4: Zaragoza Hurricanes (2-6)
#5: Gijón Mariners (2-6)
LNFA Final Power Ranking:
1st place: Las Rozas Black Demons (=)

The crown of Las Rozas is yet to be taken after an impressive and consistent performance week in and week out, with only the Osos coming close to handing them a loss in Week 1. 383 days without losing. Back-to-back reigning champions. 313 scored points, the #1 offense. 83 points against, the #1 defense. Not much needs to be said. They are the clear favourites and have the chance to three-peat as the team atop the pyramid of football in the Mediterranean country.
The only concern is the players that are going to leave the teams in the playoffs for the Madrid Bravos´ ELF season. Every club is facing the same issue, but it's especially important for Las Rozas as they are the team with the most Bravos-affiliated players in Spain.
This Saturday 12th of April they are going to meet the Terrassa Reds at home in one of the semifinals.
2nd place: Badalona Dracs (=)

Badalona's season has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, in comparison with what they are used to, it's been an almost perfect regular season nonetheless as they've closed it out with strength and authority. Following a dominant 20-48 win over Terrassa last week, the Dracs have secured the top spot in the Eastern Conference and now have their sights set on lifting the Spanish Bowl trophy for the first time since 2021.
With a 7-1 record, they enter the playoffs full of confidence. This Saturday, April 12th, they’ll face a Rivas team coming off back-to-back upsets against Zaragoza and Gijón, and adjusting to a newly signed quarterback. Badalona’s only loss came in Week 2 against Mallorca in what is probably the best game of the regular season.
3rd place: Terrassa Reds (+2)

Biggest jump in this final power ranking of the 2025 Spanish season, and deservedly so. Despite the dominant loss against the Dracs some days ago, plus Osos´ couple of defeats, they are now the third best team in Spain only behind the two historical powerhouses.
This has been an amazing year for the Catalan team after being promoted from the LNFA 2. They are the definition of a Cinderella story and have turned the Spanish American football community upside down with great signings, additions and a refined style of balanced football in what will be remembered as one of the best and paired Eastern Conferences in history. All of that will be needed this weekend as they are facing the top dog of the competition in the semifinal against Las Rozas.
4th place: Osos de Rivas (-1)

It’s been a rocky road this season for the red and yellow squad. Traditionally a top 3 team in Spain — and champions as recently as 2022 — Osos have struggled with inconsistency, capped off by a disappointing final stretch that included upset losses to the bottom two teams in the Western Conference.
Finishing with a 4-4 record, the season has been defined by instability at the quarterback position, with three different starters under center. It marks their worst regular season record since 2013, excluding their 2016 and 2017 absence due to external factors. Now, they’ll look to turn the page in the playoffs with a tough matchup against Badalona, hoping to channel the strong performances they showed earlier in the season against the Black Demons.
Uncertainty took hold after the team parted ways with American quarterback Norman Douglas Jr. ahead of their Week 8 clash with Zaragoza. That game saw young national talent Adrián Menéndez step in at QB. While the result wasn’t ideal, Menéndez still has a very bright future. In their final game of the regular season against Gijón, newly signed American QB Bryce Macina took the reins, but with limited time to build chemistry, the offense struggled once again.
Now, with more time to settle into the system and develop chemistry with his receivers, all eyes are on whether Macina can spark the offense and support one of the league’s best defenses heading into the postseason.
5th place: Camioneros de Coslada (-1)

Despite not getting into the playoffs just by point differential, Coslada´s 4-4 record in 2025 and great performances on the field has cemented themselves as a top 5 team in Spain. The historic blue squad only lost to the all time classics and their Madrid neighbors Las Rozas Black Demons and Osos de Rivas. These games against Rivas were ultimately what cost them their absence in the postseason as they finished with the same record.
The arrival of long-time Osos quarterback Sergio Barbero has been the headline story of the season for the Camioneros, and what a debut year it was for him in the iconic blue. Barbero brought leadership, experience, and stability under center, giving the team a strong identity on offense from the very start.
Adding to their firepower, Coslada featured one of the most impressive and effective import duos in the league: TE Thomaz Whitford and star RB Deyvon Butler, who made a strong case for the best RB in Spain. A debate between him and Dracs´ Keshawn Williams.
While they won’t be in the playoff picture, Coslada’s consistency, competitiveness, and strong outings throughout the season have sent a clear message: they’re a force to be reckoned with moving forward.
6th place: Zaragoza Hurricanes (+1)

It wasn´t the desired season for Zaragoza with their 2-6 season. Despite that, their second half of the season was much better and not only they avoided relegation, but made a strong case to be a team to be considered for next season with great football and a very fun style of football.
Their American QB Carlos Rogers made a huge leap every game and ended the season as a serious force under center with one of the best deep balls in the LNFA. There is no news yet but maybe the Canes found a QB for the future.
Rogers’ top target was none other than 18-year-old wide receiver Juan Baro, a breakout star with blazing speed and huge upside. His performances turned heads all across the league, establishing him as one of Spain’s most exciting young talents.
This young and ambitious squad showed real growth as the year progressed, ending the season with two statement wins, a stunning upset over the Osos and a dominant 43-6 revenge game against Gijón, whom they had narrowly lost to in Week 2.
7th place: Mallorca Voltors (-1)

Malorca´s season highlight was definitely their Week 2 win against the Badalona Dracs for their first time ever. After that, their 3-5 reflects it´s rocky season with a lot of highs and lows in one of the most even Eastern Conferences ever.
Consistency was their biggest challenge. Close losses ultimately kept them from climbing higher in the standings. Still, the team showed signs of growth, with several young national players stepping up and a handful of import standouts making a strong impact on both sides of the ball.
As the #3 team in the East, the Voltors did make a great impression in some of their games and a big number of their losses came on one-score games. Additionally, they had two of the most effective imports this season with NCAA experience in LB Favae Face and one of, if not the best receiver in the league this year WR Gabe Quigley.
While the season didn’t end the way they hoped, Mallorca’s foundation looks solid with great domestic talent in names like QB Diego Lliteras with ELF experience, LB Johnny Prieto or WR Matías Rojas. With the right adjustments, the Voltors could make a lot of damage in 2026.
8th place: L'Hospitalet Pioners (=)

Like the Voltors, L’Hospitalet Pioners finished the 2025 season with a 3-5 record, but a worse point differential kept them just behind the Mallorcan team in the final standings. Still, their campaign showed clear signs of progress and laid the groundwork for a promising future — especially if they can find the stability they’ve been missing.
There’s no doubt this team has potential. Several key players made a real impact this season, helping to build a solid foundation for what’s to come. RBs Walter Jublawi and Oriol Adriá were consistent contributors on offense, while young DB Iker González emerged as one of the team’s most exciting talents. Also the absence due to injury for the season of ELF-experienced DB Brayan Carbonell was a big issue and a big storyline to look for in 2026.
The Pioners close the year ranked 8th overall and 4th in the Eastern Conference. It’s not where they want to be, but with a growing young core and a clear vision for development, this historic Catalan organization looks ready to climb back toward the top. It’s been over a decade since they last lifted the Spanish Cup in 2013… but perhaps, the next chapter is just beginning.
9th place: Gijón Mariners (+1)

The Gijón Mariners ended their 2025 campaign on a high note with a statement win at home over the Osos, a performance that might suggest they deserve a higher spot in the rankings. Still, with a final record of 2-6, it was far from their most successful season.
Unlike other teams the Hurricanes with the same record, the Mariners didn’t experience a strong second-half surge. Their performances were consistent but lacked the spark needed to tip close games in their favor — with the notable exception of an excellent outing in Week 10 against Rivas. That win was not just a morale boost, but a crucial one, as it secured their spot in the top tier and spared them from relegation.
True to their identity, the Mariners showed grit and resilience, trademarks of the Asturian squad. With a full offseason ahead, there’s no doubt Gijón will be looking to regroup, reinforce, and bounce back stronger in 2026. The foundation is there, it’s time to build on it.
10th place: Barcelona Pagesos (-1)

Unfortunately, every year there must be a team relegated, and this time it's been the turn of the Pagesos with their 1-1-6 record.
Honestly, their record doesn't tell the whole story. They had a much better season than last year and it has only been their second campaign ever in the Spanish premiere division of American football.
The loss due to personal issues of former NFL player Michael Sam mid-season was a hard blow for the team from Barcelona, but hey surely fought in each and every game, standing out the performance they put on the field on their first encounter against the Badalona Dracs, where they were ahead in the scoreboard up until the 4th quarter. Also big games were the rare 3-3 draw against Terrassa and, obviously, their only win of the season over the Mallorca Voltors in Week 4.
With that, their presence in the LNFA for two consecutive years comes to an end, but with their young and promising roster and established organisation they are now a huge contender to win the LNFA2 next season and come back to the top.
