Panthers Wrocław Narrowly Defeated by Vienna Vikings in a Tight Match

The Wrocław Panthers suffered a narrow 13-16 defeat in the 3rd round of the European League of Football against the Vienna Vikings. Despite a 10-7 lead at halftime, errors and a lack of luck in crucial moments ultimately decided the final score in favor of the visitors.

A Tough Match of the Wrocław Panthers

The game against the Vienna Vikings was a true test for the Wrocław team. The team from Vienna, European champions from two years ago and last year's European League of Football semifinalists, did not easily concede the field. After an intense first half where the Panthers led 10-7, the final score of 13-16 showed how evenly matched the contest was. Panthers' head coach, Dave Christensen, emphasized that the team is aware of the mistakes made and knows what needs to be improved for the future.

“It wasn't our game. We are aware of what was missing and what mistakes we made. We know what we need to fix and we will do everything to be ready for the next game. Our goals never change.” – said Christensen.

Changes in the Wrocław Panthers Lineup

After the match against the Vienna Vikings, significant changes were made to the Wrocław Panthers lineup. The team parted ways with QB1 Steven Duncan, who joined the Madrid Bravos. In his place they signed John Uribe, a familiar to the Wrocław audience who showcased excellent form in the previous season. WR Matt Cole also returns to the team after spending the last three weeks on the injured list. Additionally, Swedish player William James, who is now in his third season with the Panthers, rejoined the squad.

Series of Away Games

After three home games to open the season, the Wrocław Panthers now face a series of away matches. On June 16th at 1:00 PM, they will face Frankfurt Galaxy. The match will be broadcast on Polsat Sport 3, Polsat Box Go, and the league's streaming platform. The next home game for the Panthers will take place on July 7th. They will host the Prague Lions at the Olympic Stadium.

Panthers Wrocław face a challenging task ahead, but the changes in the lineup and the upcoming away games provide an opportunity to rebuild their form and return to a winning path.
