Zaragoza Hurricanes vs L´Hospitalet Pioners: The Fight Continues

The Zaragoza Hurricanes (3-1) will host the L´Hospitalet Pioners (1-3) at home this Saturday, February 24 at 16:00 (CET) on the CMF Santa Engracia of Zaragoza.

This game couldn't have come at a better time. After the official punishment to the Pioners due to irregularities on their first game of the season against the Hurricanes, they will battle again this weekend in a must win game for both organizations. This will be a high stakes game that for sure is going to bring in a high level of intensity from both teams after they played arguably one of the best games of the first round. That clash ended with a score of 13-12 in favor of the Catalans (before the punishment).

The Hurricanes are coming in hot

After a slow start of the season and the decision of the federation to award the team with a victory due to the imports incident, now the Zaragazon team sits comfortably at a 3-1 record. After two wins in a row, they will be looking to take down the Pioners in a rematch of their first game. The key for this game will be their new quarterback Edgar Ulloa, who is coming off an stellar performance after last week's win against the Mallorca Voltors where he completed 20 of 31 passes, had 283 yards on air and 5 touchdowns. In just two games for the Hurricanes, the Mexican player has thrown for 7 touchdowns, being sixth on the list of top passers in the league right now.

Another star that should play a big part in the performance of the team are their top pair of playmaking Wide Receivers, Luis Sánchez and Aaron David, both coming off a 2 Touchdown game last week.

On the defensive side of the ball, the eye should be on the American Defensive End Prince Baffoh, and national names such as their young pair of defensive backs Alonso Muñoz and Joel Muñoz Yus.

Pioners will try to get back to the fight

The season just turned uphill for L´Hospitalet after the elimination of one of their wins, but not everything is lost and they can be very optimistic of the team they are carrying to Zaragoza this weekend. Especially after last week's thriller game against the Badalona Dracs and the great mid-season signings of the Mexican brothers Alex García (quarterback, 3 passing touchdowns last game) and Luis Enrique García (Wide Receiver, 2 touchdowns last week) the Pioners did previous to the Dracs game.

On offense, homegrowns such as Wide Receivers Jacobo Senise, Daniel Belso, Pablo Elena and the youngster Pablo Gómez, or Running Back Oriol Adriá are some of the names that will step up and contribute in a big way.

Then, on the other side of the ball, players that will resonate for sure are defensive backs Iker González, Brayan Carbonell and the American Thomas Davies.

Game´s outcome

Nothing is set in stone at this point of the season. While a win for the Hurricanes would ensure their second spot in the conference, a win for the Pioners would put them instantly back in the mix to fight for that #2 seed to enter the playoffs. Everything says that this is going to be a great high intensity clash between two teams that are looking very promising and there is no clear favorite, only time will tell.
